That's why I've decided to call my brand-new blog like this. I've always loved this beautiful song by Dream Theater, and now I'm trying to give it a new sense. I'm not claiming anyone to understand my point of view about all the silly stuff I'll talk about here, of course. This will only be my personal corner, a way to explain and think of my own things or situations happening around me, without being too personal.
Damn, I've just noticed you know nothing about me (and no, you're not Jon Fucking Snow hahah). Well, my name's Doro, I'm Italian and I'm 25. I've always LOVED writing and I'm pretty convinced to do my best on writing instead of speaking heheh. I love reading too (a lot), especially contemporary literature (my favourite writers are Khaled Hosseini, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, John Fante, Giorgio Faletti and sooo on), and I also have a book, movie and music reviews blog since almost three years ago (you can check it here). I also love good Music (especially rock, synthpop etc.) and movies of course (my favourite one EVER: Forrest Gump. Damn, I could act it from the top to the bottom!). I love studying too, especially foreign languages and everything to improve my own knowledges. Anyway, this is basically everything you should know about me, for the moment.
I actually have no idea how many times a month/a week I'll post here, but I'll do my best. I have decided to post both in English and in Italian to allow more people to understand me (and to stand me too hahaah). Hope you like this first and quite useless post, see you next time! Ciao!
Come avrete facilmente intuito dalla citazione (e, ora che ci penso, anche dalla descrizione del blog), oltre ad essere un omaggio ad una bellissima canzone dei Dream Theater che ho sempre amato, in questo blog nuovo di zecca cercherò di dare una, diciamo, nuova interpretazione a queste parole. Naturalmente non pretenderò mica che tutti capiscano e/o vogliano capire cosa intenderò con tutti gli sciocchi argomenti (e di conseguenza le mie altrettanto sciocche opinioni) che tratterò. Tuttavia, avevo voglia di un nuovo modo per confrontarmi col mondo esterno, per farmi sentire, per parlare di cose anche personali senza però essere troppo intima. Prima che mi dilunghi all'infinito, vi dirò qualcosa su di me:
Mi chiamo Doro, ho 25 anni e ho sempre avuto più dimestichezza con la penna che con la parola. Adoro, adoro, adoro follemente leggere, soprattutto la narrativa contemporanea (alcuni dei miei autori preferiti li trovate sopracitati). Ho all'attivo da circa tre anni, assieme ad altre due meravigliose colleghe, un blog di recensioni letterarie, musicali e cinematografiche (che potete visitare cliccando QUI, veniteci a trovare!), quindi ovviamente ho anche una forte passione per la Musica (con la M maiuscola, avete letto bene), soprattutto rock, e il cinema (sì, Forrest Gump è il film della mia vita). Amo studiare in generale (o meglio apprendere nuove cose, non sono una secchiona!), soprattutto le lingue straniere.
In realtà non so bene dove tutto ciò mi porterà, se sarò costante con questo nuovo blog e se ci sarà un nuovo post, ma per il momento mi andava di farlo, perciò, se vi va, sopportatemi! Spero abbiate gradito questo primo e molto inutile post, alla prossima (semmai ci sarà). Ciao!
